On sunday we had a long lie in after the events of saturday night and then me, Elen and Susie went to La Quarencia for lunch [mainly because it was the only thing reccomended by lonely planets argentina book to do in Posadas] i had a lovellyyyyy steak and chips [i know- what am i playing at right? ive been here a month and only just had steak? how dare i.]and chilled and chatted and elen told the waiter that she liked the little flag pin that he was wearing and he gave me and here little argentina flag badges it was SO cute and then he just went to suzie im sorry i dont have anything for you :O then hurried off haha. but then he came back all ashamed and was like oh-alright have my little flag pin hahaha . he was so cute and i wanted a photo of him but he got really annoyed at us for only having hundred peso notes to pay with so i didnt feel it would be wise to ask.
MY STEAK
After that we went to get ice cream [banana and dulce de leche flavour is the stuff of gods] and played gin rummy and then went to an internet cafe to find out cinema times for that evening as the mall opened at 6pm. I tried to phone home, it was 9pm in the UK on a sunday evening and no one answered. and my first [and admitedly very arrogant] thought was how dare they, the ratbags, not be home when im trying to phone? ive taken the time from my trip to argentina to PHONE ENGLAND to tell them im still alive and they have the CHEEK to now be waiting for my call? now, i see the errors of my ways, obviously i hadnt pre-warned them of my imminent phone call. we had not arranged a time for me to call when they would be home and waiting, i just saw a phone and went for it. so i suppose in hindsight what do i expect? :P anyway it turns out , after investigation through agitated emails, that they had gone out for dinner with friends and i guess without me around for entertainment and only my blog for Beth-Styley-Company they should probably do something to fill their time. so i forgave them :] anyway so we wandered over to the mall and bought tickets to see Shutter Island and went for a little look around the shops and Susie showed us this shop she found the other day called Wanama. its quite jack willsy ish but really cool and i made a massive purchase. I still had nintey pounds left in my im-a-fool-and-didnt-bring-any-warm-clothes-MandP-please-send-me-money fund so i went wild. i found the only waterproof jacket that it both practical and awesome in the land. its AMAZING. and im sorry fellow bargain hunters, i know ive basically blasphemed but its beautiful and as Susie and Elen told me, the cost is divided by how many time youl wear it so itl basically be free after a few years and ive already worn it twice :]
MAC TIME :]
The film was amazing - a bit freaky but i didnt scream or anything like i was expecting to so its all good.
Then we went home and chilled and i prepared for my first day at El Puma, the animal Sanctuary, the next morning.
Love,
Bethnal x
