Slowly progressing with getting stuff sorted for my lovely dovely trip :)
Today i phoned i-to-i ( the people i booked my trip with) to buy my travel insurance. We do have a family policy courtesy of Ma and Pa but i didnt think it would cover my for volunteering and also probably wouldnt cover me travelling by myself so i figured buying it from the people i booked it with would cover all the bases.
I was working today ( i work in a clothes shop for those of you who dont know me!) and this uber nob came in saying that hed bought this t shirt ( which he didnt have with him) and said that the "little round black thing" ( he was foreign) had been left on. i eventually worked out that he was talking about the securiy tag and i explained that if he brings it in with the receipt we would be hapy to take it off for him. uh oh. big problem. nobface doesnt have a receipt, and he keeps saying there must be some way we can resolve this and hes very annoyed that weve left the tag on. and i keep explaining that enless he somehow magically proves that he actually paid for the tshirt then we dont have to do anything. he gets really quite angry and to be honest really quite RUDE and so i in my patronising professonal voice explain that its not my fault the mofoing tag was left on! Anyway i go and speak to my manager and she says that if he tells us the exact date and time he bought it we can look on CCTV. so i ask nobface what the time and date was... " emmmm... monday or tuesday... i think" SO HELPFUL. seriosuly do some people not get that they just look like massive thieves in situations like this?? anyway grumpy foreign man left eventually saying he was gonna " take this further" i was like yeah go for it theyre only gonna beack me up lol :)
Also my aunty jenny phoned me today with an email address of someone who lives in Buenos Aires ( where i will be spending an afternoon and night on my laz before my flight up to posadas) who is willing to show me around and generally make sure i dont get kidnapped lol. Isnt it just so cute when someone goes out of their way to do something for you? I love you aunty jenny :D she also told that its very important that i need to make sure i have enough underwear with me because apparently underwear in forgeign countries is totally rubbish!!hahahaha xx
More ridiculous tales soon :)

Preparing To Leave
In seventeen days time I will be on my way to Argentina on what will hopefully be an epically amazing gap year trip all saved up and paid for by yours truly. Basically im going for nine weeks to Posadas, Argentina, to volunteer. My first five weeks will be spent in an animal sanctuary, and my last four in an orphanage, i'll be staying with an argentinian couple who, apparently, speak no english so my C at a level spanish will have to suffice! This is where you will be able to effectively stalk my every move as i will be putting details of what ive been up to on here!
So i realised a couple of days ago that its really not that long until i leave this miserable - weathered country and that i have prepared.. literally nothing. Ive had some innoculations ( hep a, hep b, yellow fever and rabies) which cost a LOT by the way so if you ever need some make sure you budget! so im not totally unprepared but i am starting to get nervous. Yesterday i wrote a "to-do" list a whole a4 page long, which basically was just stuff like " decide what to pack" and " look at suitcase to see if its big enough" so even my organisation of my unpreparedness is unprepared! Today ive written two lists number one : " stuff to buy" and number two : "stuff to pack". So you can tell my nerves are really forcing me to actually organise some stuff haha :/ .
Also today i went to boots to buy malaria tablets ( now, just so we're clear, i have been to the nurse, explained where im going, and she told me which tablets to buy so i wasnt just being a bitch in the following situation) I went up to the pharmacy place and asked if they had malaria tablets which YAY they do. Me :" Ok i need chloroquin" girl looks flustered and says " oo, you need to fill out a form.. i think.. i'll just find a form" * fill out ridiculous form* Me : " i need chloroquin" Girl: " oh ok except it needs to go through a pharmacist first" pharmacist arrives... looks at form.. Pharmacist: " she needs chloroquin" .. Girl: " you need chloroquin" Me: " YES I KNOW I NEED CHLOROQUIN! " Girl: "wheres the chloroquin" Pharmacist: " down there" girl can only find chloroquin combined with some other silly unneccessry drug thing... Girl :" weve only got it with Progunial" ( or whatever its called) Me : "i only need chloroquin" interfering boy arrives..Boy: " it wouldnt hurt you to take that one it will still protect you" Me: "yes, thanks for that, except it will cost me a hell of a lot more, do you know where i can get chloroquin only tablets?" All unhelpful people in unison: " no." Me: " oh, thanks a BUNCH for your help"
honestly, i mean, i work in a shop and everything so i know about difficult customers but people standing there like lemons being totally unhelpful really does my nut in :)
More pre travel dramas to be posted on here soon no doubt,
