So I'm now nearing the end of my second year at university. I picked advertising from a hat (kind of) on some sort of I-have-no-passion-lets-pick-something-I-can-do-for-three-years wim and now I actually really like it. I've got one of those passions that people kept talking about for my whole life. It's weird. I decided this month that I want to be a media planner. It's the bit of advertising that you can be right or wrong about (sort of), none of this nambypambybloodypoofta creative stuff as my Dad would call it. So after twenty years of not knowing what the hell I was going to do apart from see the world and reproduce at some point I actually have some direction which is nice.
I've also got one of those boyfriend things and he's rather lovely. He moved to Sydney in January which means oh-no-how-annoying I've got to go and live there for a few months this year. I know, I KNOW. It's going to be ruddy awful and I'm not looking forward to it at all... The warm weather and seeing Australia.. I mean.. I'll put up with it and lets leave it at that. Now, as part of my course I have to do a placement for a minimum of six weeks so after weeks of emails and stressing and a mildly suicidal email to my mother a family friend got me a placement in Sydney with a bit of Melbourne thrown in. I may also try and get some media planning experience over there seeing as I know what I want to do and whatnot.
Had a bit of drama with my visa BUT WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT. Other things I should mention are that I'm 21 soon.
And I might be spending my birthday in the Gold Coast.

Anyway I should probably do some of my colossal media planning assignment if I want someone to employ me from it!
